[Click here for a key to the symbols used. Some county routes were constructed with federal funds. These routes are indicated as FAP (Federal Aid Primary), FAU (Federal Aid Urban), or FAS (Federal Aid Secondary). If no funding source is shown, no federal funds were used. Note that while some segments seem to have the same attributes, they may differ in the county-local road number assigned to the segment, or in the Caltrans Map Sheet number.]

San Juan Road between Porter Drive Road (County Sign Route G12) and the
Watsonville urban limits (FAU, 0.90 mi)
San Juan Road from the Watsonville urban limits to US 101 (FAS, 8.06 mi)
History and Signage InformationThis route was not defined in 1965.
San Juan Road was one of the main established paths which carried the
so-called "El Camino Real" from Mission San Juan Bautista west to Mission
Santa Cruz. The course of San Juan Road east from the modern
community of Pajaro passes through the lands which once were the Mexican
Ranchos of Bolsa de San Cayetano, Vega del Rio Pajaro and Cañada de
la Carpenteria. The route goes back to 1882, and included a
connection directly to San Juan Bautista past the Pincate Rocks. In
1965, the route was added to the signed county route system, together with
County Sign Route G12.
