It wasn’t on the disclosure form…

…we had something like 300-400 kids tonight. It seems that everyone and their brother brings their kids to our neighborhood to go trick or treating. Evidently, a neighbor down the street had his house decorations on the news, and there used to be a haunted house on ths street. I think between 6:30 and 7:30, I never sat down!

Still, it was fun. I took my daughter out, and got a chance to introduce myself to most of the neighbors.

But I’m tired!

Today, we went shopping for the other part of our anniversary present: Patio Furniture. Most of the specialty stores were really high priced (most stuff between $1800 and $6000). We then got the idea to make our own, using a wood table and tiling it ourselves. So we went off to Froch’s, an unfinished furniture place. We looked at a number of pieces, but liked best the furniture made by GardenWood. Garden Wood Furniture is a full line of beautiful outdoor furniture that is made with weather resistant anodized steel hardware and crafted from Eucalyptus hardwood, a proven choice for outdoor use. Eucalyptus gets high marks for its strength, rich appearance and durability. Compared to other hardwoods used for outdoor furniture, Eucalyptus is a fraction of the cost, making it an affordable way to own and enjoy fine quality furniture. In addition, the Eucalyptus hardwood used is earth friendly, and comes only from well-managed plantation forests.

So, what did we get?

GardenWood 40″ X 67″ – 86″ Extension Table. The table features a butterfly leaf that when open seats up to eight people and six when stored underneath. The leaf has as umbrella hole 13/4″ in diameter. A flush fitting Eucalyptus insert is also provided. Table size: 67″L X 40″D X 29 1/4″H. Extends to 86″ (with one 19″ leaf)
Somerset Arm Chair. Chair Size: 35.5″H x 23″W x 17.5″D. Seat Height is 17″H. We got two of these.
Somerset Bench-60″ This classic, sturdy bench is crafted in today’s casual style. Size: 60″W x 26″D x 35 3/4″H. Seat Height: 17″. Weight: 47 lbs. We got two of these.

To save ourselves trouble, we ordered them finished. Hopefully, they will be here by Labor Day weekend.

We also got to have lunch with klellingson and his family, which was delightful. Tonight, we’re seeing ellipticcurve, who is returning from a week of family business in France.

All in all, a day that is ending better that it started!
