I’ve never been a fan of cliques. Back when I was in school, it was always “just an outsider”, never quite in the right cliques. Similarly when I went to camp: I was never in the popular cliques; I was always in the 2^nd or 3^rd tier groups.

Here on LJ, the “cliques” are smaller, and what is interesting is that they are clearly distinct. The 1^st is a group of Jewish friends I’ve made on LJ that go back to my active days in soc.culture.jewish; the 2^nd and 3^rd (which are actually the same group, and would shop up larger once gf_guruilla sets up the mutual friends with ellipticcurve and ixixlix) are family and close friends. The 4^th is the roadgeek clique: folks interested in highway stuff.

I wonder if other folk’s cliques break out as cleanly as this?

[And yes, I do always analyze things like this. Type A and all that rot…]
