Folks interested in the San Fernando Valley probably know about the blog “The Valley Observed: San Fernando Valley History and the Sense of Place“. This is written by Kevin Roderick, author of The San Fernando Valley: America’s Suburb. It appears he’s just created an RSS syndication, so I’ve made it available on LiveJournal as valleyobserved.
This morning as we entered our building at work, they were doing random bag inspections (this happens with the type of work we do). We were speculating on what they were looking for. We think they occur on days when the head of security forgets his lunch, and says, “Let’s see what folks are bringing for lunch. If you find something good…”
As a reminder, I’ve got upcoming business travel, and I’d rather meet people than sit in my hotel room reading LJ. I know I’ll be meeting estherchaya and her family Tuesday evening the 21st when I’m back east for one night. I’ll also be up in the S.F. Bay Area the week of February 27th, and I’m hoping to be able to meet at least of few of the folks I only know electronically. Contract me and we’ll work up something.
