- A Missing Continent. Some interesting scientific research has uncovered a missing continent… submerged under the Indian Ocean. Specifically, the Indian Ocean and some of its islands, scientists say, may lie on top of the remains of an ancient continent pulled apart by plate tectonics between 50 million and 100 million years ago.
- Looking Back. Got back pain. Foot pain. Blame evolution. Basically, evolution doesn’t come up with the best design, it comes up with something that works. The human back and feet are an example of such a compromise… and that’s why they keep going out.
- How To Be Smart. Here’s a wonderful essay on how to be smart… by not being the smartest person in the room. Really good advice here… and advice that works wonderfully for learning about science.
- A Different Type of Pool. UCLA has lots of pools, some as deep at 18′. This is deeper or wider than most pool equipment can handle. How do they do it? Scuba divers. Moreover, it is amazing what they find.
