I just got back from a very interesting talk by Mary Ellen Zurko (“MEZ” to her friends) on Security and Usability. Alas, the paper isn’t up on our website yet. One of the things the talk mentioned was user dialogs about security that are either (a) pointless, (b) become meaningless over time, or (c) ask you to do something without telling you how to do it.
So, here’s my question to you in this vein. What security dialogs to you regularly run into that you find pointless or meaningless, or you now habitually ignore?
