More Updates to California Highways

Since I got home a little bit early this afternoon, and since kaottic97 got me the correct link, I did a few more updates to the pages.

OK, OK, I did a second August update. Partially, this was to reflect further updates to Joel’s sites (i.e., I changed his site to have the [Under Construction] logo (under construction/renovation), and corrected the link for the Elvas Freeway and C-Block History.

Reviewed the July CTC Summary and Web Books. They made life harder for me; I can no longer easily walk the directory for book items, but have to follow the links from the Acrobat timed agenda. So it goes–when does government ever make life easy :-). Still, I noted the following items for inclusion:

  • 2.1c. Traffic Congestion Relief (TCR) Program Application Approvals/Amendments

    *** (3) The Department is requesting a TCRP Application Amendment to update the project schedule and funding plan for TCRP Project #22 – Route 101; environmental study for reconstruction of Doyle Drive. Approved.

    *** (6) The Department is requesting a TCRP Application Amendment to program $27,000,000 in new TCRP funds to PS&E, and to update the project schedule and funding plan for TCRP Project #39 – Route 405; add northbound HOV lane over Sepulveda Pass. Approved.

    *** (8) The Department is requesting a TCRP Application Amendment to designate TCRP Sub-project #64.2 – Route 91 – Construct eastbound auxiliary lane to northbound Route 71 connector ramp, to transfer $590,000 in TCRP funds from TCRP Project #64.1 – Route 91 – Green River Road Interchange, to program $4,410,000 in new TCRP funds to PS&E, and to establish project scope, schedule and funding plan. Approved.

    *** (9) The Department is requesting a TCRP Application Amendment to transfer $1,074,000 in TCRP funds from Project #70.1 – Route 22, Garden Grove Freeway soundwalls, to TCRP Project #70.2 – Route 22, Construction of HOV and auxiliary lanes, redistribute $31,000 in TCRP funds from PA&ED to construction. This amendment will also update the project schedule and funding plan for both projects. Approved.

    *** (11) The Department is requesting a TCRP Application Amendment to update the project schedule for TCRP Project #103 – Route 99; improve interchange at Seventh Standard Road, north of Bakersfield in Kern County. Approved.

  • 2.2a. Environmental Matters – Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR)

    *** (1) Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR): Route 11 in San Diego County – Corridor Study near San Diego (NOP). The Commission had no comments.

    *** (2) Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR): Route 15 in San Diego County – Roadway improvements near San Diego (NOP). The Commission had no comments.

  • 2.2b. Environmental Matters – Comments on Documents in Circulation (Draft EIR)

    *** Route 80 in Sacramento County – Roadway improvements near Sacramento (DEIR). Commission comments related to the need to identify potential funding sources for the project.

  • 2.2c. Environmental Matters – Approval of Projects for Future Consideration of Funding, Route Adoption or New Public Road

    *** (1) Approval of project for future consideration of funding: Route 41 in Fresno County – Roadway improvements near Fresno (ND). Approved.

    *** (2) Approval of project for future consideration of funding: Route 165 in Merced County – Roadway improvements near Stevinson (ND). Approved.

    *** (3) Approval of project for future consideration of funding: Route 101 in Mendocino County – New bypass near Willits (EIR). Approved.

    *** (4) Approval of project for new road connection: Route 4 in Contra Costa County – New road connection in the city of Antioch (EIR). Approved.

  • 2.3b. New Public Road Connection

    *** One new public road connection to State Route 4 at 04-CC-4 PM T30.1 (Route 4 Bypass Rd.) in the city of Antioch. Approved.

  • 2.3c. Relinquishment Resolutions

    *** 6-Fre-180-PM 61.43/63.04 Route 180 in the city of Fresno, between Chestnut Avenue and Clovis Avenue, consisting of superseded highway right of way. Approved.

    *** 6-Fre-180-PM 62.68/63.45 Route 180 in the county of Fresno, between Peach Avenue and Clovis Avenue, consisting of superseded highway right of way. Approved.

    *** 7-LA-210U, 210-PM R4.1/7.7.R48.7/R52.2 Routes 210U, 210 in the city of Claremont, between Williams Avenue and the Los Angeles/San Bernardino County line, consisting of superseded highway right of way, reconstructed and relocated city streets, frontage roads and cul-de-sacs. Approved.

    *** 8-Riv-79-PM 26.4/M32.1 Route 79 in the city of San Jacinto, under terms and conditions as stated in the cooperative agreement, dated June 4, 2007, determined to be in the best interest of the State. Authorized by Chapter 318, Statutes of 2006, which amended Section 379 of the Streets and Highways Code. Approved.

    *** 8-SBd-395-PM 4.49/4.55 Route 395 in the city of Hesperia, at Outpost Road, consisting of reconstructed and relocated city street. Approved.

    *** 12-Ora-73-PM R25.8/R26.5 Route 73 in the city of Costa Mesa, from the South City Limit to 0.4 mile North of Red Hill Avenue, consisting of reconstructed and relocated city streets. Approved.

  • 4.4. Policy Matters – CMIA Agreements

    *** Resolution CMIA-P-0708-01, Amending Resolution CMIA-P-0607-02 and Resolution CMIA-P-0607-01. Action: The Commission amended the adopted CMIA Bond Program to reflect the signed agreements and increase funding for the Placer Route 80 HOV & aux lane project by $2,700,000, for a total commitment of $17,700,000.
