(meme) End of the Year Meme

Around this time of year, one tends to reflect back on the year about to end. With LJ, the way to do that is to take the first sentences from the posts from the beginning of each month and construct something not necessarily coherent:

First and foremost, happy new year to you and those you care about. This morning when I checked my email, I had a message from Conrad Deisler of the Austin Lounge Lizards. Well, I’ve now coordinated tonight: I’ll be seeing Jon and ‘Von and family in Mountain View. This afternoon, we went to Cabrillo Music Theatre in Thousand Oaks where we went to see Forever Plaid. What can I say? Forever Plaid, is, ummmm, Plaid. I’ve made it to Colorado Springs safely. I’m at the Sheraton, with wireless internet that requires a bridge to work because the signal strength otherwise is piss-poor. I’m yet again convinced that wireless is not all that it is cracked up to be. Ahhh. Air conditioning ducts (except for the laundry room) are all reconnected. I just prepped the text for v16n1 of Mail.Liberal-Judaism, which is the start of the 16th year of publication. I’ve been having some e-discussions with bdot, and we’re thinking about coordinating a dinner outing for Wed, Aug 16. The Los Angeles Times is reporting about an unknown artist who has been adding bogus freeway signs. I’ve wasted some time spent some time while waking up going through my old LiveJournal entries, regularilizing tags to get around the 100 limit (i.e., following a tag they say you can only go back 100 items). A while back I wrote how the Savings Bond servicing company at work had never received my change of address, and sent approx. $600 of Series EE bonds to our old address. Yup, it’s that time again. Email announcements will be going out to folks over the weekend, but LJ is a bit easier to get out.

Well, I guess it wasn’t that coherent after all. But it does reflect much of the year: seeing theatre, futzing around on LJ, commenting on the news, gaming, visiting friends, and the occasional business trip. All in all, a pretty good year.

P.S.: For those in the LA area on my friends list, this is a reminder that we’re doing board gaming on New Years Eve. If you’re in LA, and not on my friends list and want more info, drop me a note c/o Livejournal.
