Musings On, But Not About, The Winter Solstice -or- Observations on the Day

  • Raise your hand if you ever find yourself doing an LJ post, just so you can list the music you are currently listening to?
  • A lesson in life: I believe that honesty and objectivity will always serve you in good stead. It has served me well at work, and it has served me well in life. This doesn’t mean you must be tactless, but don’t cover up the truth either. Alas, I run into far too many people happy with doing a less than adequate job, and desirous of someone to rubber-stamp it as blessed. Won’t get past me!
  • I’m still working on the personal trainer. Wearing a wrist brace and occasionally a wristlet does seem to be helping. My lower back, however, is still bothering me (but not as bad as yesterday); this is still likely the result of doing too much on Sunday.
  • Does anyone have a referral for a good family and estate attorney in the San Fernando Valley? In cleaning up my dad’s stuff, I’m finding the need for someone who can help with trusts, and we really need to get our personal wills done. I’d like someone not too expensive, who knows how to communicate via email.
  • We had a rite of passage yesterday: my daughter figured out how to comment anonymously in my LiveJournal. I’ve given her a set of rules to follow, but if you discover her commenting inappropriately somewhere, please let me know.

Also, I’d like to give her an opportunity to blog (it helps writing skills), but not here on LJ for obvious reasons. Is anyone aware of a kid-safe blogging environment, for under 13 yo?

  • J K Rowling has announced that the 6th Harry Potter book will be out in mid-July. Yeah!
  • I’ve forgotten what this item is. Senility comes quickly to the cluttered mind 🙂
