Something’s Coming. Something Good.

What you may ask? School for Small & Feisty

How do I know this? Today, after I got home from work, I got to take her school supply shopping at Office Depot (where we had a 15% coupon from work). gf_guruilla (GFG) took her shopping for fresh jeans today at Sears, and I just ordered her backpack from Lands End.

We can’t wait. She needs the mental and physical exercise that school gives her; she’s certainly not getting the physical exercise. She also needs the social contact, to be around peers (right now, its just the Karate Kid). The lack of local friends means that GFG needs to entertain her. Only occasionally will she entertain herself (or pick up her room or help around, yeah, I know, I sound like a dad). It’s probably that she’s just a nine year-old, and I can’t remember what a pest I was at that age.

Sigh. I think it is true that children are the revenge of the grandparents.

In other news: I found yet another major infestation of meal moths in some dried fruit and trail mix. I just tossed the entire drawer (obviously, we weren’t going in there frequently enough). I hope that was the last of them, but they love to hide.

Work is back in a flow, and I had a busy day, which is good.
