1. What time did you get up this morning?
   4:45 AM PST.

2. Diamonds or pearls?
   Probably diamonds. They work better in tie-tacks or watches, which is what I wear. I also like diamonds better on my wife.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
   The Incredibles, on 25 December 2004.

4. What is your favorite TV show?
   I’ll take this question as: What program would you be extremely peeved if you missed? The answer to that is: None. There are a number that I like: Survivor, Law and Order, CSI (Las Vegas or Miami), Numb3rs, Enterprise, Trading Spaces, While You Were Out, Clean Sweep… but none are ones I couldn’t live without.

5. What did you have for breakfast?
   A hotdog and cheese sandwich and an orange. Question: Do Kosher hot dogs scream when you eat them with cheese?

6. What is your favorite food?
   Absolute favorite? As in “You will never turn this down”? Quite likely either (a) French Onion Soup, (b) Good Japanese sushi/teriyaki, or (c) Good KC or Austin or southern BBQ. But there are a number of other good candidates, such as great Thai or Greek food, Potatoes Au Grautin, Cuban Roast Pork (from Versailles Restaurant), a good Veal or Chicken Saltimbocca or Florentine, or even a well-prepared Salami and Eggs.

7. What foods do you dislike?
   Extremely spicy foods, as I’m sensitive to peppers. Coconut (hate the taste and texture of it). Okra. Eggplant. Cauliflower. I’m still not enamored of some varieties of fish.

8. What is your favorite CD at the moment?
   Too hard to answer, as I have over 800 CDs. Right now, I’m listening to The Monkees (if you can believe that), as well as some shows such as New Faces of 1952.

9. What kind of car do you drive?
   1999 Honda Civic DX Hatchback. Before that, a 1981 Nissan Stanza Hatchback. Before that, a 1985 Nissan Stanza sedan. Before that, a 1977 Toyota Corona. Before that, a 1968 Buick Skylark.

10. Favorite sandwich?
    The #4 from Togos: Turkey, Salami, Cheddar Cheese, tomatoes, onions, and light mayo.

11. What characteristics do you despise?
    Dishonesty. Duplicity. Lack of committment.

12. Favorite item of clothing?
    Ummm. I really don’t have a favorite item, but tend to wear jeans or twills and either oxford cloth shirts (from Lands End) or flannel shirts.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?
    Vacation, you say. No thinking of cost? Probably, Australia or South Africa, or perhaps the South Pacific.

14. Ever unwrapped a Starburst with your tongue?
    Used to chow through them back in college days. I think I did back then.

15. How many keys on your key chain?
    21.

16. What did you do yesterday?
    Worked (6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Rode the van home. Went out to dinner with the extended family to celebrate my uncle’s birthday. Hint: Do not go to Cafe Bellisimo in Woodland Hills. Although my veal was good, the rest was so-so.

17. Last time you cried?
    Looking at my dad for the last time just before the funeral.

18. Is your house clean?
    Close enough for government work. The cleaning crew was there yesterday, but there are still areas of clutter. Don’t ask about the sewing room.

19. Favorite time of year?
    Hard to answer in Los Angeles, as we don’t have normal seasons here, we have wet, smoke, etc. My favorite time is a cold, crisp day just after a rainstorm.

20. What color is your bathroom?
    One is blue, one is pink. These are historical artifacts from when we bought the house back in 1989.

21. Where would you retire?
    Central coast of California, between Santa Barbara and Monterey.

22. Favorite time of day?
    Early morning, around 5:00 – 6:00 AM.

23. What did you do on your last birthday?
    Went out to dinner for Greek food with my family. Cuddled with wife in the evening. Did boardgaming the next day.

24. Favorite sport?
    Drum Corps.

25. Who do you least expect to do this?
    ixixlix or for_the_byrds.

26. Person you expect to do this first?
    Having grabbed it from me, most likely transitfan or jumbach.

27. What fabric detergent do you use?
    Trader Joes or Soapworks, for HE washers.

    Coke, if I must. Pepsi? Feh!

29. Are you a morning person or night owl?
    Morning Person.

30. Do you have any pets?
    No.

31. Any new & exciting news you’d like to share with your family and friends?
    Nothing at the present time.

32. What book are you reading?
    I’ve got a few waiting to start: Hammer and the Cross (Harrison), the new Pern book by Anne and Tim McCaffrey. But in terms of reading, I’m rereading Houston Freeways by Eric Slothbottom.

33. Where are your second homes?
    None.

34. Favorite flower?
    Roses or Magnolias.

35. Who do you miss most?
    My dad.

36. Last place you visited?
    Define “visit”. As in “vacation”: St. Louis. As in “out of town”: Tucson.

37. What are you listening to right now?
    The Monkees.

38. What book would you love to live in?
    Don’t really know.

39. Favorite mixed drink?
    If you mean alcoholic, most likely 7-Up with a drop of Creme De Mint in it.

40. Favorite thing to do on weekends?
    Boardgaming with my daughter; spending time with my family.
