What Is The Grade of Your Kitchen?

The Los Angeles Daily News has an interesting article about a new service provided by the Los Angeles County of Environmental Health. It is a quiz that permits you to obtain a letter grade for your kitchen, just like the big restaurants. I took it, and learned some things I didn’t know*.

So where does your kitchen rate?


* OK, I got a “B” on the quiz. We still don’t have screens on all the windows (although we don’t open the windows), I don’t always put meat on the bottom shelf, and we don’t have a refrigerator thermometer. We also don’t always use an ice bath to cool large portions of things (usually stock), but they normally go into the fridge within an hour, but that wasn’t an option.
