OK, Folks, you know the drill. Allright everyone, let’s gather in front of our large, 13″, Black and White TV set, and watch as a tall, lanky man in a khaki uniform strides out, introduces himself as Sheriff John, and says:
Now folks, normally I’d be out here singing the Birthday Cake Polka for Ms. shutterbug93. But that really doesn’t fit. First, she’s not from Los Angeles, and would be more comfortable with Checkers and Pogo from KGMB (Ch. 9) singing “It’s your birthday the day you were born“. Second, she’s into musicals. So with that in mind, I dug up this little ditty from I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It On The Road (1978, Book and lyrics by Gretchen Cryer, Music by Nancy Ford)
He then brings in the 5-piece Liberated Man’s Band, and sings:
I’ve got these arms that can reach out. I’ve got these eyes that can sing. I’ve got this voice that can sing. Celebration of me. And I don’t know what’s coming Happy Birthday I’ve got these friends I can count on And I don’t know what’s coming Happy Birthday |
This is the day I was born This is the day I begin With the rain still tap-dancing on my head The sun is starting to grin (Happy Birthday) (Happy Birthday) (Happy Birthday) (Happy Birthday) And I don’t know what’s coming Happy Birthday Happy Birthday Happy Birthday |
[Please remember, if you fill out the poll in this posting, I can make sure you get the birthday song you want. Note: I’ll be posting an updated poll at the end of the week.]
