A few news items grabbed from this evening’s reading of the news:
- From the “Who Ya Gonna Call” Department: The Los Angeles Times has a nice article on Linda Vista Community Hospital in Boyle Heights, a hospital that saw its last patient 20 years ago. Since then, it has been used for film shoots, slowly deteriorating… and acquiring ghosts!
- From the “It Must Be True” Department: The New York Times has a nice article on the people behind a site everyone should have bookmarked: Snopes. Interesting tidbit from the article: There is no San Fernando Valley Folklore Society. Drats!
- From the “Comebacks” Department: The Chicago Tribune is reporting on two comebacks. One isn’t a surprise: Jay Leno is already besting David Letterman. All it took was a month, folks. In the surprising comebacks, the Tribune is reporting that cassette tapes are making a comeback. That one sounds fishy to me, especially the bit about people preferring the sound from cassettes. I wonder if I could get the San Fernando Valley Folklore Society to investigate it. Nah, they don’t exist!
