Yesterday, I noted the death of a colleague, Dan Schnackenberg, at the age of 53. Today, I read of the death of Michael Piller of Star Trek fame, at the age of 57. Piller was head writer on “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” leading the show to a best drama Emmy nomination in 1994, the first for a syndicated series.
Too many deaths. Far too young.
I remember two years ago when Nell Carter died at the age of 56. When I said she died far too young, I realized I had crossed into “old”. But she did.
It is things like this that make you realize you are the downslope of mortality.
