A Milestone Reached

Back in April I wrote about a significant iPod milestone: the playing of a particular song I had selected in my head on shuffle. It took almost 18 months.

Today, at around 945a, another milestone was reached: all songs (except for podcasts) on the iPod have been played. This was achieved not on full shuffle (which would have taken a lot longer) but by having a specific unplayed playlist. Mind you, I currently have 18,442 songs on the iPod. For the record, the last unplayed song was “Aba Daba Honeymoon” from the Spirit of San Diego album of concert band organ music. There were a few unplayed tracks after that (since played), all either stand-up comedy or some interview segments. I should also note that my “to be repaired” list is now at its minimum as well: two songs, both from Rolling Stones albums (“Sticky Fingers”, “Get Yer Ya-Yas Out”), where I need to replace the album due to unrecoverable scratches on the LP.
