I Would Have Been Home An Hour Ago, But I Was Stuck in Traffic

[Tip O’the Hat to terpsichoros for the Link]

Forbes Magazine has just come out with their full list of the Worst Intersections in America. I’m pleased to say that Los Angeles has nary an intersection in the Top 5, and only one in the Top 10 (the distinction of having the most in the Top 10 goes to the New York Metro area), but we have our share of the worst interchanges.

So what’s bad in Los Angeles? Since the LA Times saw fit to get rid of the Bottleneck Blog, I guess it is up to me to tell you:

Some interesting observations on this list: Not a single interchange on the list is in Orange County, nor south of LAX. There’s also not a single interchange in the San Fernando Valley.

Other major urban areas on the list include those you would expect (New York Metro area, San Francisco Metro area, Chicago Metro area), and a few you wouldn’t: New Haven first appears at #22 with the I-91/I-95 interchange; Honolulu shows at #55 with I-H201/I-H1; Austin first shows up at #71 with I-35/Riverside Drive; Dallas/Ft Worth at #93 with I-820/Grapevine Hwy. There is nary a Boston interchange on the list, nor anything in the deep south. Nothing in Pennsylvania. Nothing in the DC area.

So, what’s your opinion on the list? Are there interchanges you believe should be on the list?
