Cold, In Dallas

Literally. In two ways.

First, it is getting cold outside at night. Down to the lower 40s. I didn’t expect that we would have to go outside to get to the meeting rooms. But this is a gigantic hotel, the Hilton Anatole. It is trudge from the Tower to the Trinity rooms to register, for the plenary, and for exhibits… and the food. Trudge back to the West Wing for the breakout sessions. Trudge to the Atrium side of the hotel (there is Atrium I and II) for lunch.

Second, I have a cold. Being at conference with a cold is no fun, for part of a conference is networking. I want to network, but I have no voice! So I’ve had a few discussions, but not as many as usual. I’ve also skipped out on the festivities, such as the costume party, to go have a big bowl of vegetable soup in the restaurant. However, it is permitting me to finish the book I picked up at the Airport: Book 3 in the Wicked years by Greg Maguire: A Lion Among Men. Good reading.
