Why do stage struck maidens clamor / To be actin’ in the drammer?

I’m sure that by now you’ve heard that LJ has been bought by SUP, that partying has commenced in the streets, that there’s a typically Russian 100-Day Plan, that there will be an Advisory Board that includes typical users (whatever or whomever they may be), and that they want input on policies.

Of course, the reaction of the rabble is predictable. Death and destruction. SixApart was bad, but “The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming!” Would you expect anything else from the LJ drama mill?

My reaction? A guarded “wait and see”. We need to remember that SUP isn’t the organization operating LJ — that will be done by a distinct US company, Livejournal Inc. What will happen will happen, and my opinion won’t change any of that. So I’ll just wait and see as the new policies emerge.

[In other news, I’m home today sick. One of those rare days indeed when I take a sick day. Bleh.]

[Of course, you all realize that this post was justified to show off the new icon. Hopefully aaroads won’t be too upset that I snarfed one of his photos to adapt for the background.]
