(meme) Three and Three Meme

Snarfed from zarchasmpgmr. Make a comment in this entry. I’ll go to your profile, pick 3 userpics and interests, and then you explain them in your journal.

Which I did in his journal, and here’s my answer:

Edward J. Littlehazy. This is a cartoon character I started drawing back in junior high school. I had a whole suite of characters, called Droopouts. I use this one as a userpic occasionally, as it resembles me a bit.
One of my folk music images. If you look closely at this image, you’ll see the Austin Lounge Lizards, Peter Paul & Mary, and Tom Paxton, three of my favorite artists.
My security image, adapted from one of my computer security magazines. This, of course, is a Trojan Horse. Do you know what your computer is running? Do you know who coined the use of Trojan Horse for computer security?

And, for the interests…

bell-lapadula (if there is an “r” in there, I’ll fix it). This refers to the classic paper by David Bell (a really neat fellow) and Len LaPadula about the policy for multilevel security. It defined the basic lattice model for confidentiality of labels, as well as the simple security property and the *-property. A fundamental of computer security.

goldstar events. A wonderful service (referral link: this link) that allows you to get half-price tickets to concerts, shows, sports events, etc in many major metropolitan areas. Give it a try.

שלום. Shalom. Peace. What we need more of in this world. What, alas, our current administration doesn’t seem to be moving us toward (click on the link for a short-shelf-life song from Tom Paxton: “George W. Told The Nation“).
