Today’s business news is of the fast food kind. The LA Daily News is reporting that Wendy’s Corporation introduced a strategy Thursday to revive its brand by introducing new menu items and emphasizing product quality. Sound familiar. Since the death of Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s (and chief advertising spokesman), in 2002, the company’s performance has been lackluster and unfocused. Recently, it has decided to refocus on its core business of square burgers. It has spun off its coffee-and-doughnut chain Tim Hortons last month, and just announced that it is selling Baja Fresh to the same group that owns brands including Sweet Factory, Cinnabon and Denny’s.
