(meme) TV Meme

A morning meme, prepared by a variety of chefs, including talonvaki, tsgeisel, lordandrei, and shutterbug93. You know what they say about too many cooks!

The TV Show Meme

  • Post a list of 10 (I did a dozen) TV shows you watch (current or cancelled!).
  • Have your friends list guess your favourite CHARACTER from each show.
  • When guessed, tell us why you like that character.
  1. Chicago Hope. I had two favorite characters here: Lisa Catera (Stacy Edwards), just for the pun that they created in the name, and Alan Birch (Peter MacNicol), because I like anything Peter MacNicol is in!
  2. One Day at a Time. Barbara Cooper (Valerie Bertinelli), simply because I thought she was so cute.
  3. Bob. The 3rd or 4th Bob Newhart series. Of course, I liked Bob McKay (Bob Newhart) as well as Buzz Loudermilk (Dick Martin). I especially appreciated the episode where they parodied Barney.
  4. Meeting of Minds. A wonderful PBS series created by Steve Allen, who served as host and moderator, and who was my favorite “character”.
  5. Lou Grant. I really liked Bille (Linda Kelsey), although all the characters were great. A wonderful ensemble show. I still remember the show they did about The Original Spanish Kitchen.
  6. Numb3rs. One of the few current shows on this list. Of course, I like Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz), the math genius. Man after my heart.
  7. Room 222. Alice Johnson (Karen Valentine). Yet another youthful crush. This is a show you don’t see anymore, but was basically a TV version of Up the Down Staircase.
  8. Star Trek: The Next Generation. Although I didn’t like his character when the show aired, Wil Wheaton has turned into a pretty neat guy, a nerd for our generation.
  9. Lunch Brigade. Sheriff John (John Rovick). Laugh and be happy, and the world will laugh with you. A philosophy for life.
  10. Grand. A quirky comedy that died too soon, just like Duck Factory. I liked Harris Weldon (John Randolph) for his attitude.
  11. The Smothers Comedy Brothers Hour and all revivals. Of course, Tom and Dick Smothers, Pat Paulson, and Mason Williams. A truly classic show.
  12. Trading Spaces. Sob. They fired Paige.

They didn’t say I had to make it easy, did they?
