Well, That Explains It

Just had the corporate ergometric person up to my office to look at my setup. We now know the source of my problems. My stuff was all misadjusted:

  • My monitor was too high. I was looking into the middle of the monitor; my eyes weren’t aligned to the top of the monitor.
  • My backrest was too low.
  • My armrests were too high.
  • My wrist supports were too high.
  • My writing chair was too high, making me crane my neck to write lots of tiny comments in documents.

We made a batch of adjustments to equipment, and I’m to order a different mouse wrist support and some task lighting. Hopefully, these changes, combined with a week away from close writing and long days at screen (whilst I’m at the workshop next week) should help everything to heal.

Update: …and I’ve gotten my flu shot (and so has gf_guruilla and S&F).
