Do You Know The Way To San Jose?

Yes, we made it up to San Jose. We’re staying with ellipticcurve‘s family, to whom we owe a big thank you. They are really neat people.

The drive wasn’t that bad. We left the San Fernando Valley around 9:30 PM, and pulled into San Jose around 3:00 AM. Other than one idiotic Chevron station that couldn’t be bothered to enable its pumps, the drive was smooth. This morning, we had breakfast with our friends the Biggars; this evening we’ll be seeing Mike and Carol.

Thanksgiving Is Coming…

(boy, lots of ways to complete that line come into the head).

Seriously, tonight my family, together with ellipticcurve, head off on Thanksgiving Vacation, visiting friends and ellipticcurve‘s family in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento vicinity. Specific details have been posted in a friends-only post, but for those who wish to meet up with us, here are some possibilities:

  • Friday, 1:00 PM, Katmandu Kitchen in Davis. We’re meeting a bunch of folks for lunch. So far, 12 seats have been spoken for; I made reservations for 15 to be safe.
  • Saturday, Dickens Faire. We’ll be at Dickens Faire. Will you? If so, let us know where to meet you and how to recognize you. I’ll be wearing a pocketwatch.
  • Sunday morning. We’re heading out from Davis, down Route 99. Want to meet for breakfast?

I’m really looking forward to this long weekend: getting out of town, meeting new people, playing games, and (for the most part) having no responsibilities or assignments.

…and speaking of games, the January Southern California Games Day has been set for January 22nd, the day after my birthday. Woo hoo!

Thanksgiving Trip to SF Bay Area/Sacramento Planning

[This is a repost of a message I posted yesterday, as folks might not read back that far]

My family is going to be in the San Francisco Bay area and the Sacramento area around Thanksgiving. I’ve posted the details in a friends-only post. If you might be interested in getting together, and have not yet friended me (so I know you want me to consider friending you back), please comment on this message, and we’ll see about coordinating things. Otherwise, please comment on the friends-only post.
