Today is the Day

I don’t smoke. Never have. Never will. My mother, on the other hand, was a smoker (among her other bad habits). It shortened her life, and left me with asthma. Thus, I feel it is important to remind people that today is the Great American Smokeout. If you smoke, and it’s not due to physically induced friction*, then use today as an opportunity to do yourself and those around you a favor: quit.

*: Reference to old joke:
Q: Do you smoke after sex?
A: I don’t know, I’ve never looked.
