From the “Rogets” Department: Thanks to fauxklore, I know that today is Thesaurus Day, celebrating the birthday of the author of Roget’s Thesaurus. Peter Roget was born on this day in 1779. How do I feel about the day? I’m having trouble picking the right word to describe it. (Ooops. It’s really 1/18.)
From the “Passings, Part II” Department: On the human side, there are also notable passings. Trammel Crow (and earlier, Harold Ellis of Grubb and Ellis) are no longer developing. The creative spark has left Andrew Wyeth, the painter and John Mortimer, creater of The Rumpole. Yup, two more incomplete trifectas, two trilogies that are short their last book.
