Two observations on the news:
- Everyone knows by now that Anna Nicole Smith has died. Upon hearing the news, I began to wonder: Is Anna Nicole Smith the Marilyn Monroe of the current generation? Will her death escalate her to even more fame, or will she be a flash in the pan like Dorothy Jo Stratten? After all, Anna Nicole and Marilyn have many similarities… but also many differences.
- The LA Times is reporting how Los Angeles plans to combat the gang problem by publishing a list of the top 10 gangs. A commentator of KFWB posited the interest question: Think about gang #3. Will they try to bump off #2 to move up in the rankings? Imagine a gang elimination tournament, just like for basketball, where gangs compete in closed stadiums to be #1. After the superbowl, they send the
