And there’s still more news chum to clear out. Here’s a collection of various articles about Los Angeles:
- Dining Out. I’ve got a whole bunch of links related to restaurants and restaurant lists:
- Delis. Two lists that purport to give the best Jewish delis in Los Angeles, neither of them (thankfully) from Eater LA. One is the LA Deli Power Rankings from The Infatuation; the other is the LA Times’ guide to the Jewish Delis of Los Angeles. Both love Brents.
- Soul Food. Eater LA has their list of essential soul food restaurants. Of course, they totally forget the valley and Moms.
- Dim Sum. Another Eater LA list, of their supposedly favorite dim sum places. Nothing W of the 110. Nothing in Chinatown. Nothing in the valley or West LA.
- Filipino. An interesting articles on a hidden Filipino restaurant right around the corner from me.
- Cheese. Alas, the Cheese Store in Silverlake has closed.
- Rebuilding LA. Here are some articles on some plans to remake Los Angeles, or places therein:
- LAX. Get ready folks. There’s going to be a massive makeover of LAX.
- Blue Line. Portions of the Blue Line are going to close for 8 months to a year for refurbishment. I’m still waiting to see the alternative options.
- Sepulveda Pass. There are a whole bunch of transit options being discussed for the Sepulveda corridor.
- Northridge Fashion Center. NFC is attempting to bring in business — specifically, business that wants to rent the 3rd floor of the old Broadway building, which has been sitting unused since the structure was gutted and rebuilt after the Northridge earthquake in 1994.
- Westchester. An interesting profile of Westchester, the community where I grew up. This comes from the Daily Cal, and reflects the views of a UC Berkeley student.
