Sunshine on my Shoulders Makes Me Happy…

…but alas, we have June Gloom today.

Today I went to go see the doctor on my shoulder. The good news is that there is no fracture or injuries to the bones, and there doesn’t appear to be a tear or a frozen shoulder. Rather, he believes there is some form of injury to the labrum of the left shoulder, to the rim of the glenoid fossa. It doesn’t appear to be a fracture, but possibly a tear that occurs with one particular motion. See the guy in the userpic: on the left side, I can get to 90° but getting higher often has pain (unless I swing my arm before or go swimming).

What can be done? If it’s not “symptomatic” (translation: bothering me), just live with it. Physical therapy and fixing my posture will help. Swimming in the pool will help. If it gets worse, I can explore an MRI and possible surgery. Of course, it’s my left shoulder and I’m left-handed, so I’m surgery-adverse there.

So, I’ll work on exercising it, see the chiropractor to help the shoulder, and hope it gets better.

And now, back to working at home…
