In a recent posting, mertuil<\/a> admitted that she was simply fascinated by the way people use their icons. I am too. She effectively proposed a meme where people describe their acronyms, what they use them for and what they mean to them. So, without further adieu:<\/p>\n

1964 Route Shield<\/font><\/td>\n		This icon was my first icon, and is my
\n\t\t\t default. It is the same icon I used over on
\n\t\t\t BoardGameGeek<\/a>. I do
\n\t\t\t the California Highways Web Page<\/a>, and
\n\t\t\t this icon serves to tie my blog to the page. <\/td>\n
1969 License<\/font><\/td>\n		One of my generic post images. Used for
\n\t\t\t general entries. Generated with the
\n\t\t\t License
\n\t\t\t Generator<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Slash-W<\/font><\/td>\n		My first political icon. Used for
\n\t\t\t political posts. I may be deleting this one.<\/td>\n
Gaming<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for gaming related posts. The basic
\n\t\t\t image is one of the images from the game Ticket to Ride<\/i>, from Board Game
\n\t\t\t Geek.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Jewish<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for general Jewish posts. This image
\n\t\t\t is from one of my Jewish clipart disks, modified.<\/td>\n
MLJ Sign<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for Jewish related posts, usually
\n\t\t\t where I’m giving some sort of advice. It references two Jewish sites I run:
\n\t\t\t mail.liberal-judaism<\/a> and
\n\t\t\t the S.C.J FAQ<\/a>. Generated
\n\t\t\t with the Church Sign
\n\t\t\t Generator<\/a>, and PSPed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

DPF at OERM<\/font><\/td>\n		A picture of me taken at Orange Empire.
\n\t\t\t Used for generic posts. This was taken in 2002.<\/td>\n
Generated<\/font><\/td>\n		A generated picture of me. Used for
\n\t\t\t general posts. Note the faint 1964 route logo in the background. Generated via
\n\t\t\t Abi Station<\/a> and then
\n\t\t\t PSPed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Edward Littlehazy<\/font><\/td>\n		A cartoon character that looks like me,
\n\t\t\t that I originally drew back in high school. Used for generic posts. One day
\n\t\t\t I’ll write more about the Droopouts.<\/td>\n
Political<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for political posts. Expect this to
\n\t\t\t change after the election, if the right guy wins.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Observations<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts where I make observations
\n\t\t\t on the news. Like many of the images, I found something I liked to start with
\n\t\t\t from a google image search, and then played with it in Paint Shop Pro.<\/td>\n
DPF at Work<\/font><\/td>\n		A picture of me at work. Used either for
\n\t\t\t generic or work related posts. This was taken about 1999.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

OERM<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts related to Orange Empire
\n\t\t\t Railway Museum. From the OERM web site.<\/td>\n
Roadgeeking<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for roadgeeking posts. It is a cover
\n\t\t\t of a California Highways and Public Works. The only one I didn’t have to modify
\n\t\t\t to add the route logo.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Family Guy<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts where I need to portray
\n\t\t\t the image of a dad. Taken in July 2004 at the Arch in St. Louis.<\/td>\n
Television<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for reviews or commentary on TV.
\n\t\t\t Image of a JVC 27″, PSPed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Clue by Four<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for commentary about clueless
\n\t\t\t people. I wanted a picture of Wheel of Fortune, with the line “I’d like to buy
\n\t\t\t a clue”, but I couldn’t get it to work out right.<\/td>\n
Tea<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for miscellaneous posts, and posts
\n\t\t\t about tea. The underlying image is a cup warmer from the Stash Tea
\n\t\t\t catalog.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Meme<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for memes.<\/td>\n
Sheep Meme<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for memes<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

ACSAC<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts related to
\n\t\t\t ACSAC<\/a> or Computer
\n\t\t\t Security.<\/td>\n
Security<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for Computer Security posts.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Laughing<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for humorous or sarcastic remarks.
\n\t\t\t I’ve always liked the laughing bear, ever since I saw him on an Allen Sherman
\n\t\t\t album.<\/td>\n
Blushing<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for risque or borderline comments
\n\t\t\t that would make me blush. Be warned.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Music<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts related to music, often
\n\t\t\t folk music.<\/td>\n
Musicals<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for theatre related posts, either
\n\t\t\t drama or musicals.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Calendar<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for time or schedule related
\n\t\t\t posts.<\/td>\n
Cooking<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for cooking related posts<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

1934 Shield<\/font><\/td>\n		Used as a generic, or when I’m feeling
\n\t\t\t old. The white shield was used from 1934 until 1960, when a plain white shield
\n\t\t\t was introduced for four years.<\/td>\n
Compusaur<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts about computing or old
\n\t\t\t computers. This combines a dinosaur, the route shield, and a UCLA Computer Club
\n\t\t\t card. MU$.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Camp<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts related to Camp Hess
\n\t\t\t Kramer or Gindling Hilltop Camp.<\/td>\n
Flying Diaper<\/font><\/td>\n		Used for posts related to work. You need
\n\t\t\t to guess why. My resume might give a clue.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Pirate<\/font><\/td>\n		Talk like a Pirate day, or Computer
