They just sent an update on the project, and &#8220;oh, wow!&#8221;. Remember, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bigdaddy59.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Big Daddy<\/a> is a group that does songs frozen in a late 1950s style.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what they wrote:\u00a0\u00abThree songs that we&#8217;ve decided will absolutely, positively, undoubtedly, most likely appear on our new album are&#8230; &#8220;Music Of The Night&#8221; from Phantom Of The Opera, &#8220;Over The Rainbow&#8221; from The Wizard Of Oz, and &#8220;Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious&#8221; from Mary Poppins.\u00bb. Now, just imagine those three songs in a 1959 style.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If an English Dapper Dan Can, If an Irish Calahan Can&#8230;<\/strong>. Back in 2007, we saw <a href=\"https:\/\/cahighways.org\/wordpress\/?p=2329\" target=\"_blank\">an excellent revival of Cole Porter&#8217;s <em>Can-Can<\/em> at the Pasadena Playhouse<\/a>. Well guess what&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playbill.com\/news\/article\/174089-Revival-of-Cole-Porters-Can-Can-Aiming-for-Broadway-in-Spring-2014-David-Lee-Will-Direct\" target=\"_blank\">I learned today that it may be moving to Broadway<\/a>. Now if only they could get the original cast, for Michele Duffy and Kevin Earley were great in it!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dining Along the Way<\/strong>. Whenever we have theatre in Hollywood, one of our favorite restaurants is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/natalie-peruvian-seafood-restaurant-los-angeles\" target=\"_blank\">Natalie Peruvian<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/la.eater.com\/archives\/2013\/01\/16\/the_bowerys_george_aboudaoud_loves_natalie_peruvian.php\" target=\"_blank\">Well they just got a great writeup<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A Bookstore Goes Away<\/strong>. It&#8217;s across the street from a theatre&#8230; that should count! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/features\/books\/jacketcopy\/la-et-jc-a-little-latino-bookstore-in-palm-springs-says-adios-20130115,0,5181377.story\" target=\"_blank\">A real neat Mexican bookstore we saw in Palm Springs is (alas) closing<\/a>. What did it in? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mydesert.com\/article\/20121219\/BUSINESS04\/312190054\/Palm-Springs-OKs-remake-Desert-Fashion-Plaza\" target=\"_blank\">The death of a mall<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>P.S.: I mentioned Kickstarter in the beginning, let me close with a current kickstarter: The folks behind <a href=\"http:\/\/www.actorsrepofsimi.org\/about\/events.html\" target=\"_blank\">Nottingham Festival<\/a>, a new RenFaire that is starting in Simi Valley, are doing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1775873422\/nottingham-festival-a-traditional-renaissance-fair?ref=email\" target=\"_blank\">a kickstarter for the permitting process<\/a>.
