Here are a few historical items saved during lunchtime reading:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>History Every Day<\/strong>. You may not realize it, but you&#8217;re exposed to historical items every day on your computer. Don&#8217;t believe me? Look closely at the various icons you see. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hanselman.com\/blog\/TheFloppyDiskMeansSaveAnd14OtherOldPeopleIconsThatDontMakeSenseAnymore.aspx\">Most are for things that most people no longer use<\/a>. For example, you&#8217;ll see a floppy disk icon in Acrobat to give you an option to save to disk&#8211;but who uses floppy disks anymore?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Old Things Still Around<\/strong>. No, I&#8217;m not talking about me. Rather, I&#8217;m talking about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itworld.com\/hardware\/270936\/living-computing-fossils-old-tech-holding-dear-life\">old computer equipment or operating systems that should be long gone, but for some reason are still in use today<\/a>. For example, there&#8217;s one company that is still using plugboard equipment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It&#8217;s Still Burning<\/strong>.
