If you didn&#8217;t catch the author of the title of this post, it is Shel Silverstein. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/article\/243240\" target=\"_blank\">The Poetry Foundation has a very interesting article on the man and what he left behind<\/a>: in particular, loads and loads and loads of writings. Evidently, Shel wrote everywhere. They are slowly going through it all, and determining what is suitable quality for publishing. This is where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Every-Thing-Shel-Silverstein\/dp\/0061998168\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1326312418&amp;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\">the latest Shel Silverstein book<\/a> came from (which is still on my wishlist). A very interesting article to read.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learning to Play<\/strong>. The LA Times has a very interesting article on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/business\/la-fi-ct-artistworks-20120110,0,527772.story\" target=\"_blank\">ArtistWorks, a program where artists provide online streaming lessons and feedback for students<\/a>. This provides a way for instructors to make money, and students to interact with well-known instructors. It sounds fascinating. Makes me wish I could play an instrument (instead, I live by Tallulah Bankhead&#8217;s adage: \u201cIf you really want to help the American theater, don&#8217;t be an actress, dahling. Be an audience.\u201d)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Follies Casting<\/strong>. Speaking of American theatre, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playbill.com\/news\/article\/158446-Victoria-Clark-Will-Be-Sally-in-LA-Follies-with-Elaine-Paige-Jan-Maxwell-Danny-Burstein-Ron-Raines\" target=\"_blank\">the first information about the casting for Follies at the Ahmanson is out<\/a>. Victoria Clark will be in the production (in Bernadette Peters position). Also in the cast will be four-time Tony nominee\u00a0Jan Maxwell\u00a0as Phyllis Rogers Stone, two-time Tony nominee\u00a0Danny\u00a0Burstein\u00a0as Buddy Plummer, three-time Emmy nominee\u00a0Ron Raines\u00a0as Benjamin Stone and Olivier Award winner\u00a0Elaine Paige\u00a0as Carlotta Campion.
