Allright everyone, let&#8217;s gather in front of our large, 13&#8243;, Black and White TV set, and join Sheriff John in singing the Birthday Cake Polka for <a href=\"http:\/\/ellipticcurve.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">ellipticcurve<\/a>&#8230; but wait&#8230; the Sheriff&#8217;s not on today. Instead, we have a funny looking group of guys, and they are singing:<\/p>\n<table cellpadding=5>\n<tr valign=top>\n<td valign=top>Once a year we celebrate<br \/>\nWith stupid hats and plastic plates<br \/>\nThe fact that you were able to make<br \/>\nAnother trip around the sun<\/p>\n<p>And the whole clan gathers round<br \/>\nAnd gifts and laughter do abound<br \/>\nAnd we let out a joyful sound<br \/>\nAnd sing that stupid song<\/p>\n<p>Happy birthday!<br \/>\nNow you&#8217;re one year older!<br \/>\nHappy birthday!<br \/>\nYour life still isn&#8217;t over!<br \/>\nHappy birthday!<br \/>\nYou did not accomplish much<br \/>\nBut you didn&#8217;t die this year<br \/>\nI guess that&#8217;s good enough<\/td>\n<td valign=top>So let&#8217;s drink to your fading health<br \/>\nAnd hope you don&#8217;t remind yourself<br \/>\nThe chance of finding fame and wealth<br \/>\nDecrease with every year<\/p>\n<p>Does it feel like you&#8217;re doing laps<br \/>\nAnd eating food and taking naps<br \/>\nAnd hoping that someday perhaps<br \/>\nYour life will hold some cheer<\/p>\n<p>Happy birthday!<br \/>\nWhat have you done that matters?<br \/>\nHappy birthday!<br \/>\nYou&#8217;re starting to get fatter<br \/>\nHappy birthday!<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s downhill from now on<br \/>\nTry not to remind yourself<br \/>\nYour best years are all gone<\/td>\n<td valign=top>If cryogenics were all free<br \/>\nThen you could live like Walt Disney<br \/>\nAnd live for all eternity<br \/>\nInside a block of ice<\/p>\n<p>But instead your time is set<br \/>\nThis is the only life you get<br \/>\nAnd though it hasn&#8217;t ended yet<br \/>\nSometimes you wish it might<\/p>\n<p>Happy birthday!<br \/>\nYou wish you had more money<br \/>\nHappy birthday!<br \/>\nYour life&#8217;s so sad it&#8217;s funny<br \/>\nHappy birthday!<br \/>\nHow much more can you take?<br \/>\nBut your friends are hungry<br \/>\nSo just cut the stupid cake <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>I must add: For those of you who have never met <a href=\"http:\/\/ellipticcurve.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">ellipticcurve<\/a> (Nicole), you&#8217;re missing something. She came into our life around 3 years ago, and very quickly became a part of our family. She&#8217;s a work colleague, a good friend, an older sister to our daughter, and just a really neat person. Her interests are congruent to ours, and we just enjoy being around her. I think every couple develops one or two truly close friendships that remain throughout their lives, that form the extended family that you choose to be with, as opposed to your real family (who you must be with). With us, <a href=\"http:\/\/ixixlix.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">ixixlix<\/a> and her family are one, and <a href=\"http:\/\/ellipticcurve.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">ellipticcurve<\/a> is the other.
