The LADOT Bike Blog completed <a href=\"http:\/\/ladotbikeblog.wordpress.com\/2010\/09\/15\/la-county-sidewalk-riding-finale-part-7\/\" target=\"_blank\">their survey on sidewalk riding in Los Angeles County<\/a>. This was a 7-part series, looking at the municipal code of each city within the county, to determine if sidewalk riding is legal.<\/p>\n<p>2. The LAIst blog just posted a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/laist.com\/2010\/09\/16\/new_map_shows_citys_completed_and_p.php\" target=\"_blank\">a map that shows all completed and planned bike lanes for 2010 in the City of Los Angeles<\/a>. Having just ridden across both Parthenia, Nordhoff, and Roscoe, I can attest to the poor conditions in the riding areas of these streets, and it is nice to see a more comprehensive network forming.<\/p>\n<p>3. LA Observed noted that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laobserved.com\/biz\/2010\/09\/why_cant_i_find_my_t.php\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Brothers Maps has quietly left California<\/a>. I think the map books are still being sold. What is being referred to is the fact that the offices that produce them <a href=\"http:\/\/thebusinessrelocationcoach.blogspot.com\/2010\/09\/case-study-why-its-hard-to-track.html\" target=\"_blank\">have moved to Illinois and India<\/a>, and by doing it in a series of small RIFs, have avoided triggering California\u2019s layoff notification laws.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just after I posted my grabbag chum, the \u2018ol RSS reader highlighted a few items of interest to cyclists and map afficianados: 1.
