Yesterday, I discovered in the LA Times <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/home_blog\/2010\/02\/moths-clothes-holes-closets-get-rid.html\" target=\"_blank\">an interesting article about dealing with moths: both meal moths and clothes moths<\/a>. In particular, it had a suggestion I hadn\u2019t seen before: \u201cA few bay leaves in flour, pasta and grains containers might help (and can\u2019t hurt).\u201d Has anyone else heard of this?\n<li><i>From the \u201c<b>Misguided Priorities<\/b>\u201d Department:<\/i> Two articles I\u2019ve seen during lunchtime reading make me question discipline in our schools. The first is an article from CNN about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/CRIME\/02\/18\/new.york.doodle.arrest\/index.html?hpt=C1\" target=\"_blank\">misguided zero-tolerance rules<\/a>: in particular, a 12-yo who wrote a love note on a desk getting hauled out in handcuffs by the police. In my day, we just had to go through and clean the desks. Then again, schools don\u2019t react when they should. An article in today\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gigagranadahills.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">GigaGranadaHills blog<\/a> highlights a prime example: for all the furor about the \u201cCompton\u201d party at UCSD, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gigagranadahills.com\/2010\/02\/mommas-dont-let-your-babies-grow-up-to.html\" target=\"_blank\">there is no furor about a sexist Facebook group created by Granada Hills High students<\/a>.<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few articles related to bugs in the system, either literal or figurative ones&#8230; From the \u201cOngoing Battle\u201d Department: I\u2019ve written in the past about our ongoing battle with meal moths.
