So here\u2019s some chum to tide you over:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>From the \u201c<b>It\u2019s a Trademark Issue<\/b>\u201d Department:<\/i> The well-known mother of octuplets, Nadya Suleman, <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/lanow\/2009\/04\/octomom-seeks-trademark-.html\" target=\"_blank\">is seeking to trademark the term \u201coctom0m\u201d<\/a>. What\u2019s interesting is that she has competition: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.superhappyfunfun.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Super Happy Fun Fun<\/a>, a Texas-based corporation, submitted its paperwork March 12, to use the name for computer game software, toys and action figures and wireless and mobile entertainment.  The company\u2019s website indicates that it has developed the Fertile Myrtle game that requires players to \u201cpress down on Fertile Myrtle\u2019s swollen belly, and another adorable bundle of joy will be brought into the world.\u201d Each extra baby earns welfare money, with bonuses given for birthing in front of the paparazzi, the website states.\n<li><i>From the \u201c<b>Don\u2019t Call Me, I\u2019ll Call You<\/b>\u201d Department:<\/i> It appears that DirecTV <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/business\/la-fi-donotcall17-2009apr17,0,956601.story\" target=\"_blank\">has violated the \u201cDo Not Call\u201d list<\/a>. Specifically, they have called customers of theirs who have requested that they don\u2019t be called&#8230; to ask them to permit DirecTV to call them. &#8220;The prerecorded message,&#8221; the government said in documents filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, &#8220;told persons who received the calls that &#8216;from time to time, [DirecTV] extend[s] exciting offers to our loyal customers like you. But because you are on the DirecTV Do Not Call list, we are not able to contact you for these exciting offers.&#8217; &#8221; Comcast has received a similar penalty.<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I figure by now I either know the stuff or I don\u2019t.
