While going through my inbox as part of my Quicken-ing ritual this morning, I found a poem my daughter wrote for me last Fathers Day, which she just recently completed. I thought I would share it:<\/p>\n
For my father, who in my life
\nOnce made me oatmeal cookies early morning
\nFilled with raisins, nuts, and love
\nWho works long hours far away
\nJust to put food on the table
\nWho has enriched my life with theatre
\nMusicals, plays, Shakespeare
\nAnd knew when to wipe my tears when I cry
\nTo comfort me when I’m sad.<\/p>\n
For my father who in my life
\nBrought me across the country
\nSt. Louis, New Orleans, Nashville
\nKnew just where to go, which interstates to take.
\nAnd who sat in waiting rooms
\ntoo many times
\nand bandaged my wounds
\nWho can never ever ever take me shoe shopping
\nOr clothes shopping
\nOr any shopping for that matter
\nand through the headaches
\nAt least tries to make my day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
