Great thing to remind people of, especially if voter registration is still open in your area. Add your local registrars. <\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve moved since you last voted, you need to re-register.<br \/>\nIf you haven&#8217;t voted since the last presidential election, check your registration. You may have been purged or moved to inactive.<br \/>\nIf you haven\u2019t yet received any voting materials from your state, you may need to reregister.<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;re not sure, you only lose a couple minutes of your time by re-registering.<br \/>\nIn California the last day to register is Monday, October 20. The form must be in to your county&#8217;s register of voters by the end of that day. A POST MARK DOES NOT COUNT.<br \/>\nIf you think that you are ineligible to vote, call your county and double check. For example if you have been convicted of a felony and have finish your parole, you are eligible.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some resources. If you live in the SF Bay Area, chances are good you can check your registration status online (see links below, all the counties I list allow you to check online). For example http:\/\/www.maps.google.com\/vote<\/p>\n<p>There are also a lot of rumors going around that the police will be checking for outstanding tickets\/warrants at the polls. These are completely untrue. If by some chance you do encounter something like that, call the news and the ACLU immediately. Do not wait for the next day\/hour\/minute.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any question about voting in California, please ask me.
