{"id":303,"date":"2005-10-13T17:46:00","date_gmt":"2005-10-14T00:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cahighways.org\/wordpress\/?p=303"},"modified":"2005-10-13T17:46:00","modified_gmt":"2005-10-14T00:46:00","slug":"303","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cahighways.org\/wordpress\/?p=303","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I happened to take a look at <a href=\"http:\/\/countfroggy.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">countfroggy<\/a>&#8216;s blog (as I do periodically with folks that have friended me, but I haven&#8217;t friended yet), and I saw the following, which <i>must<\/i> be shared:<\/p>\n<p>You must remember this,<br \/>\nA bris is still a bris,<br \/>\nA chai is just a chai.<br \/>\nPastrami still belongs on rye,<br \/>\nAs time goes by.<\/p>\n<p>With holidays in view,<br \/>\nA Jew is still a Jew,<br \/>\nOn that you can rely.<br \/>\nNo matter if we eat tofu<br \/>\nAs hours slip by.<\/p>\n<p>Old shtetl customs, never out of date.<br \/>\nAll those potatoes mother has to grate.<br \/>\nHoney, tsimus, latkes, chopped liver on our plate.<br \/>\nThe best that gelt can buy.<\/p>\n<p>Some would send us to perdition,<br \/>\nBut we&#8217;re strengthened by tradition,<br \/>\nThat no one can deny.<br \/>\nWe roam, but we recall our birthright,<br \/>\nAs time goes by.<\/p>\n<p>Dreidels and chocolate, never out of date.<br \/>\nAncient Jewish stories that we all relate.<br \/>\nBlue-and-white giftwrap, everything that&#8217;s great?<br \/>\nAnd festive chazerai!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s still the same old Torah,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s still the same menorah,<br \/>\nWe&#8217;ve latkes still to fry.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s at yomtov when we feel most blessed,<br \/>\nAs time goes by.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I happened to take a look at countfroggy&#8216;s blog (as I do periodically with folks that have friended me, but I haven&#8217;t friended yet), and I saw the following, which must be shared: You must remember this, A bris is still a bris, A chai is just a chai.
