Resolution Chapter 75.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><b>SB 1419<\/b> <i>(Yee) Highways: Safety Enhancement-Double Fine \t\t\t\t  Zones.<\/i><br \/> Existing law requires that a state highway segment be designated \t\t\t\t  as a Safety Enhancement-Double Fine Zone if, among other requirements, the \t\t\t\t  segment is eligible for designation and the Director of Transportation, in \t\t\t\t  consultation with the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol, certifies \t\t\t\t  that the segment of state highway meets specified criteria. Existing law \t\t\t\t  requires the Department of Transportation to conduct a Safety \t\t\t\t  Enhancement-Double Fine Zone study that relates to pedestrian safety and \t\t\t\t  evaluates the appropriateness of adding to those criteria. This bill would, \t\t\t\t  notwithstanding these requirements and until January 1, 2014, designate \t\t\t\t  specified segments of State Highway Routes 1 and 101 in the City and County of \t\t\t\t  San Francisco as Safety Enhancement-Double Fine Zones. The bill would require \t\t\t\t  that the Safety Enhancement-Double Fine Zone study discussed above be conducted \t\t\t\t  on these segments and include, among other things, a review of traffic volume, \t\t\t\t  speed, and collisions, as specified. The bill would require the department to \t\t\t\t  report its findings from this study to the appropriate committees of the \t\t\t\t  Legislature on or before January 1, 2013.<br \/><span class=\"Status\">Chaptered \t\t\t\t  July 10, 2008.
