After all, they always say that if a dog bites a man it isn\u2019t news, but if a man bites the dog&#8230;\n<li><i>From the \u201c<b>A Font of Knowledge<\/b>\u201d Department:<\/i> It appears typefaces are in the news again, in particular, Obama\u2019s used of Gotham, which has garnered articles in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/features\/lifestyle\/la-ig-font30mar30,1,7655295.story\" target=\"_blank\">the Los Angeles Times<\/a> as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/id\/129573\" target=\"_blank\">Newsweek<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/campaignstops.blogs.nytimes.com\/2008\/04\/02\/to-the-letter-born\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">New York Times<\/a>. Evidently Obama\u2019s team has made very conscious decisions about the message conveyed by fonts. Obama uses <a href=\"http:\/\/typography.com\/fonts\/font_styles.php?productLineID=100008\" target=\"_blank\">Gotham<\/a>, a warm and friendly font based off of Port Authority bus terminal signage. Hillary? She uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/fonts\/bitstream\/itc-new-baskerville\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Baskerville<\/a>, commonly used by book publishers, law firms and universities. McCain uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/fonts\/linotype\/optima\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sans-Serif Optima<\/a>. Me? I used to use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/fonts\/ascender\/georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\">Georgia<\/a> all the time, but recently I\u2019ve been using something called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/fonts\/agfa\/nimrod\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nimrod<\/a>.\n<li><i>From the \u201c<b>It\u2019s Just a Fad<\/b>\u201d Department:<\/i> At least some reports are believing that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.venturacountystar.com\/news\/2008\/mar\/26\/giving-up-gluten-may-be-latest-fad\/\" target=\"_blank\">going Gluten-Free is just today\u2019s fad diet<\/a>. As someone who lives with two celiacs, and knows the effects on many more, I think it is more than a fad: I think our overly processed diets today have let more people to have the reaction, just as more folks have asthema and other sensitivity problems.\n<\/ul>\n<p>And now the tea has cooled to drinkable, and it\u2019s off to my document.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the \u201cObligatory News Department\u201d: Women bites dog.
