Some near side and far side theatre planning, while the tea steeps and cools:<\/p>\n
On the near side<\/b>: Yesterday morning, while the tea cooled and I woke up from the van ride, I worked on the weekend schedule for the next few months. I needed to do this because I needed to reschedule tickets for two shows, schedule a third, figure out when we were going to the Ren Faire<\/a>, and figure out when to order tickets for some other shows we want to see. The following is what I worked out. If this affects you (and it probably doesn’t–it should only affect ussens, ellipticcurve<\/a>, ixixlix<\/a>, and anyone wanting to meet us at Southern Faire), give me a shout out with any problems:<\/p>\n Sat 4\/5 9p: “Mask” at Pasadena Playhouse<\/a> (TICKETED) Sat 4\/12 All Day: Ren Faire<\/a> (TICKETED, w\/ellipticcurve<\/a>, Faire runs 4\/5 through 5\/18) Sat 4\/19: First Seder Sat 4\/26: Jeremy’s Bday Party, OERM Rail Fest<\/a> Sat 5\/3: E-Rehearsal, K-CDF Conference<\/a> Sat 5\/10: Brain from Planet X<\/a>, Chance Theatre, La Palma (Ticketed\/Goldstar<\/a>, New American Musical Festival, Runs 5\/3 – 6\/8) Sat 5\/17: Pippin<\/a> at East West Players<\/a> (UNTICKETED, Runs 5\/14 – 6\/18, Goldstar\/LAStageTix inquiry sent) Sat 5\/24: “Of Mice and Men” at Pasadena Playhouse<\/a> (MOVE Season Tickets from 5\/31) Sat 5\/31: Grease Finale\/Cast Party Sat 6\/7: “The Full Monty” at REP East<\/a> (SEASON TICKETS, runs 5\/16-6\/14, date request sent) Sat 6\/14: Open Sat 6\/21: Grad Party? Sat 6\/28: “A Chorus Line<\/a>” at Ahamanson<\/a> (MOVE Season Tickets from 5\/31, w\/ixixlix<\/a>, exchange @ box office or mid-May) Early July: Look for “A Very Brady Musical<\/a>” at Theatre West<\/a>, June 6 through July 20. Goldstar\/LAStageTix inquiry sent.<\/p>\n On the far side<\/b>: The Center Theatre Group has just announced<\/a> the 2008-2009 schedule, with a hint of the 2009-2010 schedule:<\/p>\n Interesting season. Not sure yet I want to subscribe<\/a>. The only “must sees” are “9 to 5” and “Spring Awakening”, with “Frost\/Nixon” and “Minsky’s” as definate maybes. I have no interest in “Ain’t Misbehavin'” (saw the original cast and<\/i> the Cabrillo production, don’t need to see it again) nor “Dame Edna”. Of course, in 2009 I do want to see “Mary Poppins”. One note about “Ain’t Misbehavin'”: This is the 2nd<\/sup> show (“A Chorus Line” being the first) to be produced at Cabrillo Music Theatre and then show up at the Ahmanson the following year.
