This comes on the heels of an announcement that <i>Legally Blonde<\/i> is also being <a HREF=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/news?tmpl=story&#038;u=\/nm\/20040604\/tv_nm\/television_blonde_dc_1\">worked up<\/a> for television syndication. Of course, according the reviews, <i>Legally Blonde 2<\/i> was a flop (although the original was good).<\/p>\n<p>Why? Oh, why?<\/p>\n<p>Why can&#8217;t we come up with original ideas. Why must we keep going back to the same story lines and keep reinventing things. Although sometimes this works (<i>The Producers<\/i>, <i>Hairspray<\/i>), othertimes, it doesn&#8217;t (need I mention <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.graiai.com\/carrie2\/\"><i>Carrie&#8211;The Musical<\/i><\/a> or <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.castalbumdb.com\/rec.cfm?RNumber=314\"><i>Gone With The Wind &#8211; The Musical<\/i><\/a>). And even in the case of <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.producersonbroadway.com\/\"><i>The Producers<\/i><\/a> and <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.hairsprayonbroadway.com\/\"><i>Hairspray<\/i><\/a>, they are now talking about making remakes of the movies (<a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2004\/SHOWBIZ\/Movies\/01\/07\/producers.movie.ap\/\">Producers<\/a>, <a HREF=\"http:\/\/movieweb.com\/news\/news.php?id=2948\">Hairspray<\/a>) based on the musical. Well, if it worked for <i>Little Shop of Horrors<\/i>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And it is not just Broadway\/TV. I did a <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.boardgamegeek.com\/geeklist.php3?action=view&#038;listid=2377\">geeklist <\/a> on <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.boardgamegeek.com\/\">BoardGameGeek<\/a> regarding this problem in games, especially those from Steve Jackson. Of course, it is Steve Jackson that gave us not only <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/game\">Munchkin<\/a> and two expansions (<a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/unnaturalaxe\/\">Unnatural Axe<\/a> and  <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/clericalerrors\/\">Clerical Errors<\/a>), but <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/starmunchkin\/\">Star Munchkin<\/a> (and one expansion, <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/clownwars\/\">Clown Wars<\/a>), <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/munchkinfu\/\">Munchkin Fu<\/a>&#8230; and who recently announced <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/bites\/\">Munchkin Bites<\/a> and <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/blender\/\">Munchkin Blender<\/a>. Of course, these are all basically the same game rethemed, but people don&#8217;t notice that.
