The musical is based in the 1930s, and is about an aspiring starlet. This got me thinking into what musicals have been written about the movie industry. I could think of the following, in no particular order:<\/p>\n<p>Bricusse\/Newley: Chaplin (closed before Broadway)<br \/>\nHerman: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatredb.com\/QShow.php?sid=s0224\" target=\"_blank\">Mack and Mabel<\/a><br \/>\nHerman and others: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatredb.com\/QShow.php?sid=s0162\" target=\"_blank\">A Day in Hollywood, A Night in the Ukraine<\/a><br \/>\nStyne\/Comden-Green: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatredb.com\/QShow.php?sid=s0674\" target=\"_blank\">Fade Out, Fade In<\/a><br \/>\nWebber: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatredb.com\/QShow.php?sid=s0499\" target=\"_blank\">Sunset Boulevard<\/a><br \/>\nColeman\/Zipple: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatredb.com\/QShow.php?sid=s0351\" target=\"_blank\">City of Angels<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Are there others?
