historyontrial is the blog of Dr. Deborah Lipstadt of Emory University, discussing her battles against Holocaust Denyers. Dr. Lipstadt was just accepted as a judge of the contest being done by an Israeli Webpage to show that jews can come up with better antisemitic cartoons.

bggnewgeeklists is the RSS Feed of new geeklists from BoardGameGeek.

I’ve said this before, but nothing has firmed up. I’ll be in the S.F. Bay Area the week of February 27th, and I’m hoping to be able to meet at least of few of the folks I only know electronically. Contact me and we’ll work up something.

Folks interested in the San Fernando Valley probably know about the blog “The Valley Observed: San Fernando Valley History and the Sense of Place“. This is written by Kevin Roderick, author of The San Fernando Valley: America’s Suburb. It appears he’s just created an RSS syndication, so I’ve made it available on LiveJournal as valleyobserved.

This morning as we entered our building at work, they were doing random bag inspections (this happens with the type of work we do). We were speculating on what they were looking for. We think they occur on days when the head of security forgets his lunch, and says, “Let’s see what folks are bringing for lunch. If you find something good…”

As a reminder, I’ve got upcoming business travel, and I’d rather meet people than sit in my hotel room reading LJ. I know I’ll be meeting estherchaya and her family Tuesday evening the 21^st when I’m back east for one night. I’ll also be up in the S.F. Bay Area the week of February 27^th, and I’m hoping to be able to meet at least of few of the folks I only know electronically. Contract me and we’ll work up something.

It is amazing how refreshed (and tired) one feels after a midsummer’s night swim.

A quiet day. The morning and afternoon were spent cleaning the house, working at my desk, and getting stuff together to do wills and trust, whilst in parallel, burning a copy of HGTTG from ellipticcurve‘s cassettes to MP3 for her. The evening was spent over at ixixlix‘s, having dinner, and playing Dragon Delta and Ticket to Ride. Lost both 🙁

With this post, I unveil a new userpic, replacing my old “gardening” one that I didn’t use that much. We’ll see if I use this one more. It is based off of the Austin Lounge Lizard’s “The Drugs I Need” Animated Video.
