Everybody has to eat. So what better than a post about food, right?
- Pick Your Favorite. Lay’s is testing three different varieties of potato chips, and is asking consumers to pick their favorites. The flavors? Sriracha, Chicken and Waffles, and Cheesy Garlic Bread. I’d probably prefer the garlic bread, but most likely the spicy one will win.
- Maple Syrup. Speaking of waffles, let’s look at maple syrup. Specifically, here are 5 things you might not know about maple syrup. So what is your favorite grade?
- Gluten Free. The NY Times has an interesting article on the growth of gluten free — and more particularly, the growth of the number of gluten-sensitive non-celiacs.
- Tastes Like Chicken. This time of year, the fish starts popping out at fast food joints — just in time for Lent. Time has an interesting article on how fish is the new chicken in fast food.
As for us, what’s on the menu (so to speak)? Tonight we have the Ahmanson Theatre, so we may try The Park’s Finest BBQ in Echo Park, which isn’t too far from the Music Center. They were closed due to a kitchen problem last time we thought about trying them, and we ended up at Heywood Grilled Cheese instead. Of course, there’s always udon at Wakasaya in Little Tokyo or the more traditional Tenno Sushi. So many choices (and so many calories). I think I’d better head off to the YMCA to make room.
