Today was a busy day. It started around 9:30 AM when ellipticcurve and I took apart Small & Feisty’s old bunk bed, and then assembled and put up a new bunk bed where the bottom is a futon sofa. [Edit: I should note that while we were doing this, gf_guruilla was baking a GF coffee cake, and trying (without much success) at finding something for Small & Feisty to do.] At the same time, I put up privacy film on her windows (note that while we were doing this, it was approx. 100°F outside and we kept going in and out… and Small and Feisty was “bored” (read: not the center of attention) and was thus whining. Once the bed was up, gf_guruilla, ellipticcurve, and Small & Feisty went out to finish Quilters Run, while I remained to finish cleaning and rearranging S&F’s room. I put up a Chinese Lantern from Ikea, rearranged furniture, remade the bed, cleaned up various, and schvitzed like crazy. A long, hot, hot day. Alas, I didn’t get any of the preparation we needed to get done for our trip, so I guess tomorrow night will be a long one.
The evening was delightful. We drove ellipticcurve home, had dinner at SoupPlantation in Marina Del Rey, and then got to see ellipticcurve‘s apartment and meet Jack, her cat.
Now it is one more day until vacation (yeah!). 48 hours from now, we’ll be in the Gateway to the West!
