It seems like forever, doesn’t it. I’ve been so busy, it seems the only time I can find to update the Highways pages is when I take a vacation day to do it. So, my timecard has been filled out and “V” has been charged, and the bike has been ridden, and my daughter is off at the park, so it’s you and me, dear friend.
The following are updates from my reading of the papers (which are posted to California Highways Facebook group) as well as any backed up email changes. I reviewed the the AAroads forum and misc.transport.road, but found nothing worth converting into updates. This resulted in changes on the following routes, with credit as indicated [my research(1), contributions of information or leads (via direct mail or Usenet) from Michael Ballard(2), Patrick Carroll(3), Michael Patrick(4), Chris Thomas(5) ]:Route 1(1), Route 4(3), Route 22(1), Route 24(1), Route 25(5), Route 46(2), Route 65(5), Route 99(2), Route 110(1), Route 165(4), Historic US 80(1), US 101(1), I-5(1,2), I-80(1), I-210(1), I-405(1), I-680(1).
Added information on the 1946 Parkway Plan for Los Angeles, based on a post by the Metro Library. The library also made available the whole 1946 Report. This included the addition of a new map!
Checked the Calnexus page to see if there had been any updates. There weren’t any.
