Those who read my Facebook on Father’s Day know that I spent a goodly chunk of the day fighting with a Father’s Day present from Apple: iTunes 9.2. It seems that iTunes 9.2 has a problem with iPod Classics… it hangs. I ended up completely deinstalling iTunes, reinstalling it… only to have it freeze again… then wiping my iPod to let iTunes restore it… only to have it freeze again… completely deinstalling iTunes again… reinstalling iTunes 9.1 from a handy backup… and then restoring all 20,000+ songs to my iPod. This was a lost chunk of about 6 hours thanks to Apple.
At the time, I thought it was due to my still being on XP SP2. Guess what… that wasn’t the problem.
The problem was that iTunes 9.2 is piezocrap. After not that much search (h/t to Nicole), I discovered I’m not alone. Loads of folks are having trouble with iTunes 9.2. So this is a warning to folks out there: Be wary about the latest iTunes.
